Classic book recommendation for 13YO girl

My daughter loves reading more than anyone I know. Up until now she has favored contemporary, young-adult fiction, but lately she has expressed an interest in reading some of the classics. Can anyone recommend some titles? She is mature for her age, although I don't want anything inappropriate so no Henry Miller or anything like that.
