For those of us who long ago (and maybe again) collected 12" LPs, and coffee table books like The Album Cover Album, one reason why I still buy CDs: I like the album art, lyrics and other visual media.
Looking at Paste's list, I found the David Byrne/St. Vincent cover particularly disturbing upon purchase. The XX and Japandroids have followed a successful formula on successive releases. I particularly like Cloud Nothings Attack on Memory cover photo, Father John Misty's Fear Fun fits the music to a tee, Divine Fits is as sweet a confection as the music and Beach House's Bloom (on my office stereo now) is as dreamingly ambiguous as its cover. Is it wrong that I now have more interest in Bat for Lashes?
