First weekend brings about upset. AFA 11-10 over Duke.

Duke tends to start a little slowly. They usually drop a game but it is on the road not in Durham. AFA was dominated at the face-off.

Glad the season started but it is way too early.

ND played Duke in February every year from 2010-2013

ND won all 4 games -- 2 in Durham, 1 in Jacksonville, and 1 at ND. Duke beat ND in the NCAAs in May in 3 of those 4 years.

I know it was just a preseason scrimmage

But wasn't the report of our scrimmage with Air Force something along the lines of 11-4?

It was their opener. Not a scrimmage.

Air Force looked very good. Duke goaltending is once again weak.

I think he was referring to the ND-AFA scrimmage *

That sounds about right. Not much you take

from scrimmages. Coaches use them in different ways depending on their team.

But, it is better to win than lose them. That is for sure.

Was watching Hopkins last night and Quinn was talking about his top 20 and had placed Duke in there more on reputation than anything else. Miles Jones carried that team last year. Not sure if they have someone on that team this year to fill those shoes.

A poster on our board went to the AF-dook game.

He said that they hit a bunch of pipes and were very sloppy with the ball and that cost them the game. Those things can be fixed. What can't be fixed though, he noted, was the slow foot speed of their midfields which apparently was exploited by AF. dook apparently will need to rely on their attack for consistent scoring.
