South Bend middle of May bring your coat
I lived in South Bend for nearly a quarter century, so I know how mercurial the weather can be. But this will be Saturday of Commencement weekend, which traditionally is shorts and T-shirts time. I don't remember it ever being that cold this late in the spring. Rain 40%? Maybe snow?
40° as I'm typing this while listening to Biden's speech.
Already a little better forecast today - only 20% chance of rain for Sat and showing 0% at gametime.
Graduation at 9am with those winds and overnight low of 37 is going to feel like a football game (no rain predicted though)
The turf was installed after the 2014 graduation, and I believe last year's commencement was at Purcell Pavilion due to Crossroads work at the Stadium.
It's a good thing my commencement (1986) was indoors. An outdoor ceremony at 9 am might've been OK (although I would've had no sleep), but there was a thunderstorm between 2 and 4 pm when our ceremony took place.
