IRISH HEADED TO THE SUGAR BOWL

posted by John Vannie
Notre Dame will play in the Sugar Bowl for the first time in 15 years, as the Irish accepted an invitation to play LSU in New Orleans on January 3. Jerome Bettis was the most valuable player in 1992 when Notre Dame upset Florida in the famous Cheerios Bowl by 39-28. This year’s team will have its work cut out against the Tigers, who are also 10-2 on the season but are ranked fourth in the latest BCS poll. The Irish are ranked 11th in most polls.
